Winter & summer scarce above the ground
Where Rushes (usless in most places seen)
Are all devoured (hungers bites so keen)
Where spite of all the spears their leaves contain
Sharp prickly thistles strive to rise in vain
There with a motley drove of sheep & cows
(That on the green all summer daily brouze)
